From the product design phase, we apply criteria that allow us to minimize the consumption of raw materials during the manufacture of our products, extend their useful life and increase the subsequent recycling of their components.
We optimize resources and processes so that waste has new uses, both in our production processes and in those of third parties.

In the exploration and production stages, we apply thermal desorption techniques to transform the residual muds into new fuels that we reuse in our processes.
Mud management
PROJECTS
We are investigating new sustainable packaging solutions such as the design of multilayer containers made with a single material (mono-materials). These will replace the current multilayer containers made from different materials whose components are more difficult to separate and, therefore, to recycle.
In our refineries, we process raw materials of residual origin, our own or from third parties, and we transform them into biofuels; some of this waste derives from vegetable oils and the wine industry.
Biofuel from waste
Through an innovative chemical recycling process, we convert plastic waste into pyrolysis oil. This is an alternative raw material with which we manufacture circular polyolefins that have the same quality and functionality as virgin polyolefins and can be used in food packaging and products for the medical sector.
Circular polyolefins
We work with different members of our value chain to offer our customers new materials that, through mechanical recycling, incorporate a percentage of recycled plastic in their composition without losing any of their original properties and reducing their carbon footprint.
