We are committed to new ways of working. New ways of working provide you with the opportunity to learn in a trusting and inclusive environment, connect through increasingly digital settings using collaborative tools, and evolve towards an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset, with a focus on the customer, to ensure the future. We believe in telecommuting as a tool to provide greater flexibility to committed individuals while considering the needs of the team, colleagues, and the department. To achieve this, we established a Diversity and Work-Life Balance Committee and signed the IX Framework Agreement, which reflects our commitment to these initiatives

Our initiatives

Teleworking

Teleworking makes it possible to strike a good work-life balance, which has a positive effect on employees’ productivity and motivation. Repsol has offered this benefit for years and this modality is now established for all employees given the exceptional situation of the past year to ensure that the maximum biological capacity of our centres isn’t exceeded.

Our commitment to digitalization, technology, and our extensive experience with teleworking meant we were able to react quickly to ensure that almost 7,000 employees who could perform their tasks remotely had the technical and logistic means to work from outside the office.

Work-life balance

We believe in a healthy work-life balance and that’s why we’ve updated our basic-level policies to adapt them to the legal requirements, uses, and customs in every country. Reviews are made of maternity, paternity, and breastfeeding leave, as well as days off for marriages and deaths in the family.

Flexibility

We don't believe in a mandatory physical presence at the workplace. At Repsol, we believe that work should be focused on achieving goals. This is why we have a long-standing flexibility policy to link our work to results. A flexible workday, an intensive workday schedule at all our industrial complexes, a workday reduction option, and the right to disconnect are some of the steps we’ve taken to provide the flexibility our employees need.

Work-life balance services

The idea behind our work-life balance services is to tend to the personal needs of all our employees. Services include our Time Bank, legal services, health services, and even psychological counselling by phone. In 2019, the scope of these services was increased in Spain and they are now also available in Portugal and Ecuador.

Promoting excellence in research

We began the application process for the HR Excellence in Research Award granted by the European Commission. The goal is to keep promoting a favorable work environment and enable researchers to carry out their work in the best conditions by adapting human resources policies to the European Charter & Code principles for researchers.
